The case for unlimited support for every employee
Wysa's AI has held over half a billion conversations with more than five million people about their mental health, mostly employees and their families, across 65 countries.
The worrying trend in declining mental health of employees across the world led us to conduct two in-depth studies to understand traditional models aren't working, and the true impact this has. Together, these reports make a compelling case for employers, brokers, and insurers. We investigated both the national employee population of the USA and UK, as well as Wysa's global employee user base, to provide evidence of need and the impact our approach has. We found that offering every team member unlimited care, starting with Wysa's conversational AI care actually saves on the total cost of care.
We discovered that 4 in 10 of the general working population suffer moderate to severe symptoms, yet less than 7% of employees actually access EAP services. Stigma, time constraints and the inability to self-diagnose prevail under the traditional model of care. Wysa removes these barriers entirely.
Limited support means people delay access. Symptoms deteriorate and recovery takes longer. Every year, unaddressed depression and anxiety costs $580-$680 per employee in absenteeism, lost productivity and turnover. That's $30 million a year for an employer with 50,000 people.
The emotional bond people build with Wysa is as deep as that with a human therapist, and 9 in 10 find talking to Wysa helpful. Conversational AI self-care is proven to improve symptoms, taking on 80% of the support load to free up human support for where its really needed.
